Chunk Spelling and Word Wall Words

Suggested words to practice: ball, call, hall, mall, fall, small, stall, etc.
Word Wall Words for the week: want, three, don't, sat, take


Previous Word Wall Words that your child needs to know how to read and spell:


Fourth Quarter Spelling Words:

want, three, don't, sat, take, why, know, home, friend, rain, under, because, where, than, any,who, very, favorite, could, been, there, school, people, away, today, were, was, about, all, when

Third Quarter Spelling Words:

Second Quarter Spelling Words:

Spelling Activities

Ways to learn your spelling words:


1. Rainbow Spelling--Rainbow write your spelling words. Write each word first in pencil. Then write each word with a DIFFERENT color. (Select 3-5 colors)


2. Pyramid Writing--Pyramid write your spelling words. You must write neatly!

3. ABC Order--Write your words in ABC order!


4. Red Vowels/Blue Consonants--Write each of your spelling words. Write the vowels with a red crayon/marker and the consonants with a blue crayon/marker.


5. Squiggly Spelling Words--You are going to write them two times. Write them first in squiggly letters. Then write them once more in regular letters. Write neatly!


6. Three Times--Write each spelling word three times. First, write each word in pencil. Second write each word in crayon. Third, write each word in marker. You MUST write neatly!


7. Fancy Letters--Write each of your spelling words using fancy letters. Your letters can have curly-q’s or dots, for example. Have fun!


8. Upper and Lower--First write your spelling word normal. Then rewrite your spelling word. This time write the vowels in lowercase and the consonants in uppercase. *Example- lower    LoWeR
